People want an iPhone unlock device. And I don't blame them. Why Apple made the iphone compatible with only one network is puzzling. Why can't people have a choice as to which network they would rather be on. I'm sure Apple would have sold more iphones if they had. Obviously, there are always people who will try to beat Apple and hack into the iPhone. Boffins oblige by making SIM cards that unlock iphones. Then Apple annouunce it is disabling unlocked iPhones. And round and round we go. Thousands of iPhone owners have hacked their expensive gadget in order to unlock it for use with other mobile carriers and to run a host of unsupported programs. Hurray, I hear you say!... But when Apple update their software, it regulary causes issues with altered iPhones. Apple issued a statement in which it said many of the unauthorised iPhone unlocking programs caused "irreparable damage" to the device's software. Apple also stated that this would "likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed". That warning has now proved correct as many owners are reporting their phones no longer work following installation of the update. However, there is another twist to the tale.... When Apple update their software, it regulary causes issues with altered iPhones. Some owners are reporting that the update is deleting contacts information, as well as photos and music, on iPhones that have not been modified in any way. Come on Apple....sort it out!
