Apple Soften Their Stance On iPhone Software

Apple has tried to control which iPhone software its users had on their phones.
This has infuriated many consumers who don't want to be dictated to about what they can and cannot have on their iPhone.
There are a multitude of unofficial software programs on the internet. Users just had to take the gamble of installing them and maybe falling victim to some nasty spyware or virus.
But now, Apple have said they intend to release a software kit that will let people create applications to work directly on the iPhone.
It was not clear from Apple whether the move was a response to the growing discontent of the limitations placed on the iPhone by Apple.
Apple refused to comment on why they made the change, saying instead that the process of opening the iPhone to third-party programs will take time.
