iPhone Review

Whilst writing this iPhone review, many arguments were had with friends over the merits and flaws of this long-awaited device.
Everyone seems to have an opinion so I'm sure this review won't go down well with everyone. I am not a technical expert. I just like gadgets. So I'll try to keep this iPhone review as simple as possible.
I first encountered the iPhone whilst visiting friends in New York. Two of my friends had an iPhone each and were virtually frothing at the mouth whilst extolling the virtues of this device.
On first glance, I thought it looked rather too big. Yes, it was packed with functions but I was of the opinion it was meant to be a phone first and foremost.
After playing around with it for a while I started to come around to the idea of an iPod and phone together. It would surely be less cumbersome than carrying both a separate music player and phone.
On closer inspection, I found both good and bad things about it. Here is what I thought....
Positives
First of all, let me say it looks great. The display looks like something from a sci-fi movie. Star Trek, eat your heart out!
With a multitouch user interface, it's a breeze to get around.
It's set up nicely for the web.
And of course you have an iPod crammed in there as well.
Negatives
Some basic features that are found on other phones are inexplicably left off. This includes 3G compatibility.
The memory isn't exactly huge for an iPod.
The headphones for the iPhone are pretty much the same as the iPod, i.e poor.
Conclusion
Whilst the iPhone does have flaws that need to be ironed out, it is undoubtably the future of mobile communications.
It is simply years ahead of its rivals for ease of use. For a full overview of the many things you can do with this device, go to our iphone video.
