How To Use The iPhone Internet

Connecting to the iPhone internet with EDGE or Wi-Fi is easy. Just use Safari, Mail, YouTube, Maps, Stocks or Weather.

When you use any of these applications, iPhone does the following in order until connected:

  • You will be connected over the last Wi-Fi network you used that's available.

  • It will show a list of Wi-Fi networks that are in range, if no Wi-Fi networks you've used are available,

  • Tap a network. You might have to enter the password to join.

  • Networks that require a password show 'lock icon'.

  • If no Wi-Fi networks are available or you choose not to join any, iPhone connects over EDGE.

    Wi-Fi is usually faster than EDGE but Wi-Fi networks cover limited areas.

    However, you can use Wi-Fi and call at the same time. With EDGE you can't.
