iPhone Availability

iPhone availability is rather scarce at the moment. This long-awaited device is available in the US, Germany and the UK but only on one network in each country due to Apple's exclusivity contracts.
Apple have made the iphone available on the AT&T network in the US. You can purchase the iPhone there.
In the UK, O2 has been given the exclusive deal to market the handset. However, you can also purchase the phone in the high street retailers, The Car Phone Warehouse.
In Germany, the iPhone is available via T-Mobile.
Spanish mobile operator Telefónica announced on their technology blog that they expect to be shipping 3G iPhones by May 2008.
Surprisingly, Apple hasn't got around to the Asian market where huge profits await, especially China.
This is because iPhones might not be compatible with the Chinese mobile phone market due to their 'locked' SIM cards. This basically means that the iPhone would not be able to piggyback on another operator's network.
Also, sharing revenue with terminal producers in China is a big no-no.
